Home Base
Memorial Day
Flag Garden
CASE STUDY
Home Base · 2026 · Boston Common
Event coverage and the official recap film for Home Base’s annual Memorial Day Flag Garden.
The client
Home Base Veteran and Family Care supports veterans and military families. Every Memorial Day it plants a Flag Garden on Boston Common honoring each Massachusetts service member lost since the Revolutionary War.
The brief
Cover the event, from the public planting to the ceremony, and turn it into the official “sights and sounds” recap.
The approach
I shot the planting day, when 700 volunteers placed more than 37,000 flags at the Soldiers and Sailors Monument in record heat.
Then I covered the name-reading ceremony with families of the fallen, Governor Healey, and Home Base leadership, working quietly around a solemn moment.
What I delivered
The official recap film, directed, shot, and edited by me, capturing both the scale of the garden and the families at its center.
Watch the film.
